Under the background of intensive national support policies for new energy vehicles, China's new energy vehicle industry has ushered in explosive growth. According to the current statistical data, the global sales volume of new energy vehicles this year is about 600000, nearly double that of 300000 last year, while the annual sales volume in China will reach the level of 220000 ~ 250000. The United States, which has always maintained the first sales volume, has sold about 180000 vehicles this year (120000 vehicles last year), about 150000 vehicles in Europe and 40000-50000 vehicles in Japan. There is no suspense that the sales volume of China's new energy vehicle market will become the first in the world this year.
With the rapid development of new energy vehicles in China, the lithium battery industry of electric vehicles also sees a huge market space. According to the data provided by Moco, chief analyst of real lithium research: the demand for lithium batteries by electric vehicles in 2011 was 1.767 million kwh, accounting for only 6.6% of the total lithium battery market demand. In 2014, it has increased to 11.102 million kwh, an increase of more than six times in four years. It is expected that by 2016, with a demand of 20.71 million kWh and a market share of 22%, new energy vehicles will surpass smartphones to become the largest segment of lithium batteries.
